The Bounder Chronicles — Chapter 2: The Insta-dent Files

"Two Rights. One Pattern. Zero Apologies."

— SonRise Commander

Some lessons arrive gently.

A whisper.
A nudge.
A quiet knowing.

And then there are The Honda Accords.

1990

Blue Accord.
Red motorcycle.
From the right.

The driver was in a hurry.
They always are.

The impact was instant.
The recovery was not.

Years of rebuilding.
Years of recalibrating.
Years of understanding that some catalysts don't ask permission.

They just arrive.
From the right.
At speed.

The lesson: get bigger.
Get more visible.
Make yourself harder to miss.

A 4x4 truck entered the fleet.
Incident avoidance protocol — activated.
Zero incidents thereafter.

Protocol: successful.

2021

Fry's Grocery.
Gilbert, Arizona.
1-2 miles from home.

White van.
Navigating the parking lot.
Picking up a few groceries.

Black Accord.
From the right.
Again.

31 years later.
Same model.
Same direction.
Same urgency.

Apparently seeking white on bumper.

Rear wheel.
Direct hit.
Costly.
Life altering.
Catalyst.

Again.

Blue/Red. Black/White.
Opposite attraction —
open for interpretation.

Two rights don't make it wrong —
also open for interpretation.

What is NOT open for interpretation:
the pattern.

The Upgrade

The 4x4 was visible.
But the mission needed more.

The 2021 Accord delivered
a slightly larger visibility solution.

The Bounder.

You can now pull the van.
With the house.

Zero incidents thereafter.

The van not running may be a contributing factor.
We remain open to all theories.
😂

The Compound

The Bounder found its ground.

Wedged behind a few rows
of discarded toilets —
years of demolition jobs
we've had the pleasure
of not experiencing.

Surrounded by the rotation:
Equipment. Water trucks.
Pickup trucks. Tractors.
Trailers. Motors.
Stacks of tires.
Excavation fleet.
Freeways built across the valley —
one job at a time —
accumulated over years
into a landscape only
a hide-and-seek enthusiast
could truly appreciate.

The critters agree.
The cats confirm it.
The St. Bernard-sized dog
patrols the perimeter at night.
Keeping the frequency safe.
Keeping the mission protected.

Zero incidents.
Thereafter. ✅

What The Accord Didn't Know

It thought it was hitting a van.

It was actually upgrading a mission.

Both times.

The Bounder doesn't hold grudges.
Neither does the Commander.

Catalysts don't need forgiveness.
They need acknowledgment.

Acknowledged. 🌀

Two rights.
One pattern.
Zero apologies.
Full faith.
Detroit style.
