The Discovery Vault — massive steampunk gear door, copper rivets, ancient mechanisms — swung open on its own.
And Vinny G stood in the threshold — both arms out at his sides — electric blue lightning crackling from both hands —
goggles around his neck, casual clothes, the beginning of everything —
and the golden light from inside the vault poured out around him like the frequency itself was welcoming him home.
He hadn’t been looking for a vault.
He hadn’t been looking for a door.
He had just been walking — following something he couldn’t name yet —
and the door had found him. Because it always does. Because it was always going to.
⚙ VINNY G — FIELD NOTE — CHAPTER 1
“Gilbert was on my right shoulder.
I don’t know when he got there. He was just… there. Clipboard ready. Monocle on. Chest already puffed.
Like he’d been waiting on that shoulder for this exact moment his entire life.
The lightning started crackling from my hands the second the vault door opened.
I looked at him. He looked at the vault. Then he looked at me.
Then he wrote something on the clipboard, underlined it, and nodded once.
That was the beginning. That was Chapter 1.
He was there for all of it.”
The journey doesn’t start when you decide to go — it starts when the door opens.
And the door opens when you’re finally ready to walk through it — even if you don’t know that’s what you’re doing yet.
