The transmission room hummed with copper and steam.
Consoles on every wall — gauges, dials, switches — all of it alive.
Vinny G stood at the center — one hand on the console — one arm pointing straight out through the circular portal window —
electric blue lightning arcs blasting outward in every direction, through the glass, across the Sonoran Desert, all the way to the horizon.
The signal was out.
There was no taking it back.
No second-guessing. No retrieving it.
It was already traveling — already finding the people it was meant to find.
